Wall Calf Stretch | Self-stretch in 3D
Wall Calf Stretch: standing (wall), gastrocnemius and ankle. Preparation, 4 movement phases, points to check and cautions, with a 3D model you can pause and rotate.

Position and focus
Standing (wall) · Gastrocnemius and ankle
A self-stretch for the gastrocnemius and ankle. Support your body and stay within a comfortable range.
Starting position
Stand facing a wall and place both hands on it at shoulder height. Step one foot back and point the toes of both feet straight ahead.
Movement phases
1. Stagger the feet
Straighten the back knee and keep the heel on the floor.
2. Move forwards
Bend the front knee and move your body towards the wall. Keep the back heel on the floor.
3. Hold the stretch
Stop where you feel a gentle stretch in the calf and breathe easily.
4. Return slowly
Straighten the front knee as you bring your body back to the starting position.
What to check yourself
Check that the back heel stays down and the back knee stays straight. Also check that the toes and knee point in the same direction.
Caution
Stop if you feel sharp pain, numbness, dizziness, shortness of breath or anxiety. If you are receiving treatment, recovering from surgery or pregnant, check with your healthcare professional first.
