Lift the pelvis around the supporting lower knee as the upper arm travels overhead.
Preparation
Begin in a side support with bent knees, the lower hand and knee on the mat, and the upper arm beside the body. The selected arm is uppermost.
Use a non-slip mat and enough space. Review the method you learned from your instructor.
Four movement phases
1. Set up

2. Movement
Lift the pelvis around the supporting lower knee as the upper arm travels overhead.
Breathing example: Exhale
3. Observe
Observe the lower shoulder, hand and knee supports without turning the chest or pelvis. This version keeps the knees bent.
Breathing example: Keep breathing
4. Complete the cycle
Lower the pelvis slowly and return the upper arm beside the body. Stop if the wrist, shoulder or knee feels uncomfortable.
Breathing example: Inhale
Observation points
