Preparation
Lie on your back with the knees bent and feet on the bar. Hold the straps with the arms reaching towards the ceiling.
Check your equipment manual and the setup taught by your instructor. Model spring colours and dimensions are not equipment settings.
Four movement phases
1. Set up
Lie on your back with the knees bent and feet on the bar. Hold the straps with the arms reaching towards the ceiling.
Breathing example: Breathe comfortably
2. Movement
Reach the arms towards the thighs as the upper trunk curls forwards.
Breathing example: Exhale
3. Observe
Curl through the rib cage rather than pulling the chin forcefully towards the chest.
Breathing example: Keep breathing
4. Complete the cycle
Lower the back progressively and return the head and arms to the starting position.
